Unanswered Prayers by Garth Brooks

Country Music Song:  Unanswered Prayers by Garth Brooks

“Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers.

Remember that you’re talking to the Man upstairs.

Just because He doesn’t answer, doesn’t mean He doesn’t care.

Some of God’s greatest gifts are unanswered prayers.”

__________

God’s Word, as found in Bible scriptures, says:

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 - Rejoice always,  pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

God does what He knows to be best for you.

Isaiah 55:8-9 - “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.”

__________

God answers all prayers.  It’s just that He chooses how and when to answer the prayer.

Some answers are Yes:

1 John 5:14-15 - And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us.

John 15:7 - If ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

__________

Some answers are Wait:

2 Peter 3:8 - “But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”

God will act in His time.

And other answers are No:

James 4:3 - Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

__________

John 3:16

The God who created you and provides for all your needs, gave us laws which we all have broken.

The penalty for breaking God’s laws is death.  God knows that and does not want us to die for our sins, therefore He gave us His Son Jesus to pay for our sins through His death on the cross and resurrection from the grave.

Jesus is Lord of all.

He is Savior to all who believe in Him.

Accept Jesus and you will be saved.
